Equality article

I follow in that most movies leave out the minorities, but I believe that to be because that's what they are. Minorities. I have nothing against them, I really don't, but people like to see what is most common to them. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be a movie like what they described, but it's just not that likely to break the habit. Where Disney has it's princesses, Pixar has it's male leads. It will always be like this.

This is just the way things will always be... Women, on the large scale of things, as well as blacks, and other minorities, recently obtained their rights, while most people still have it engrained in their minds that white men, are always on top. This is just how society works. I don't mind that people think that, and we are rather lucky to have women at all in movies.

Wow. For once, I really strong disagree with one of your posts. I think that complacency and acceptance of the status quo are dangerous. I believe that the world is a gorgeously diverse place and our movies, films, books and music should reflect that. I shouldn't feel "lucky" to see images of myself in media; I should think that's right and normal. Last but not least, the population is rapidly changing and those parties who were once labeled as minority are becoming majority.

i know what you mean, but I don't know what point I was trying to get with for that post. I just guess I really don't care, as I don't find myself watching movies or tv very often anyways. I mean, it would be nice if they would include the other races, but they just don't. Look at movies in other places. African movies have African people, Asian movies have Asian people. You don't often see a white person in an Asain movie do you? It's the same concept. Spanish movies have Spanish people. It just works that way I guess. It's not that I think it should be any different than that.
